A: Yes. As of April 10, 2025, the Brazil eVisa became mandatory for all U.S., Canadian, and Australian citizens visiting Brazil for tourism or business, regardless of the length of stay.

A: You can certainly apply directly through the government portal for $80.90. However, their system is known for technical glitches and very strict document requirements. Q: How long will it take to get my visa?
A: Once we submit your application, the Brazilian Consulate typically takes 5–10 business days to issue the eVisa. We suggest applying at least 3 weeks before your flight to account for any government holidays or requests for additional documents.
Q: What documents do I need to have ready?
A: For most travelers, all you need is a clear scan of your passport’s information page and a high-resolution digital photo (a selfie against a white wall works great). If you are traveling with a minor, additional notarized authorization forms are required—we will provide guidance on exactly what you need after you finish our form.After submission, consular offices may request proof of a flight reservation and/or a printed bank statement from the past 30 days showing at least US$2,000 for travel. We recommend having these on hand just in case.
